Entry for July 22, 2008
Sunday was a day on the USS Midway Aircraft Carrier. This is by far the best museum in San Diego. To see behind the scenes of the largest millitary ships ever created is something really special. You can go just about everywhere on the ship, see all sorts of cool planes and helicopters, and have a cold one at the cafe. They have a self guided audio tour (that's free) and many volunteers that once served on the Midway and can talk endlessly about her. The view of the city skyline and San Diego bay is breathtaking. My only advice is if you are tall, watch your head. I think every millitary battleship, destroyer, sub, and now aircraft carrier that I have been on was designed for people under 6' feet. Highly recommended.
