Sunday June 8th me and some friends went to watch Sumo in L.A. Yes, these are the real giants from Japan not drunken bar goers in sumo suits. I saw this before in Osaka about 6 years ago but it still fascinates me. The initial clash of the match called the Tachi-Ai is so powerful! Recently the Non-Japanese wrestlers (rikishi) such as Hakuho from Mongolia and Kotooshu from Bulgaria are dominating the sport. The highest ranked wrestlers are called "Yokozuna" or Grand Champion. There are only two current Yokozuna in the world of Sumo and both are from Mongolia.
